With the much-awaited Asia Cup 2025 India vs Pakistan game coming up, Dubai officials have revealed strict security measures for fans heading to the Dubai International Cricket Stadium this Sunday for the high-profile game. The highly polarizing India-Pakistan fixture will draw hundreds of thousands of cricket followers from around the world and become one of the most followed and politically charged games of the tournament.
The Events Security Committee (ESC) under the chairmanship of Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, the Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations of Dubai Police and ESC Chairman, assured that elaborate security plans are in full readiness to provide a safe and well-organized event. Speaking to the media, Al Mazrouei called on spectators to remain disciplined and reinforce the UAE's image as a world-class sporting events host. Police specialized units have been sent across the stadium grounds and will move in quickly and decisively against any acts of disturbance that compromise the safety of players, officials, and spectators.
Spectators have been distinctly cautioned against an extensive list of prohibited items and behavior. Invasions onto the pitch, attempts to hide banned substances like fireworks, or acts of misconduct will lead to severe legal repercussions. Violators under the UAE's Federal Law on the Security of Sports Facilities and Events are liable for imprisonment for one to three months, as well as a fine of AED5,000 (more than ₹1.20 lakh) to AED30,000 (more than ₹7.20 lakh). The punishments increase for serious offenses like acts of violence, object-throwing, or racist and abusive language, where the minimum penalty can be a fine of AED10,000 (more than ₹2.40 lakh) as well as imprisonment.
An extensive list of prohibited items has been released by the authorities to ensure regulation. These prohibited items include fireworks, lasers, combustible substances, umbrellas, selfie sticks, bulky camera gear, sharp objects, poisonous substances, flags, banners, remote-controlled toys, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, glass products, and animals. The actions are intended not just to avoid disruptions but also to protect the health of all individuals at the stadium.
The India-Pakistan match is very important this year, as it is taking place against the backdrop of increased geopolitical tensions in the region. Both cricketing giants come into the encounter with strong showings from their initial matches, further ratcheting up the intensity of the rivalry. The game will start at 8:00 PM IST, with exciting cricket action guaranteed while Dubai Police are determined to keep the sporting event incident-free.
Fans are strongly advised to adhere to the rules and avoid bringing any restricted items to avoid facing severe penalties. Dubai’s zero-tolerance approach reflects its unwavering commitment to delivering a secure and world-class sporting experience during Asia Cup 2025.
