The new rules don’t just add restrictions they also clearly define luggage allowances depending on the class of travel:
- AC First Class: Free up to 70 kg, with an additional 15 kg allowed. Parcel van booking up to 65 kg.
- AC 2-Tier: Free up to 50 kg, with an extra 10 kg permitted. Parcel van booking up to 30 kg.
- AC 3-Tier / Sleeper Class: Free limit of 40 kg. No extra allowance. Parcel booking not available.
- General Class: Free limit of 35 kg. No extra allowance. Parcel booking not available.
It’s worth noting that even if your baggage falls within the weight limit, exceeding the size limit can still result in penalties.
